Ike

The new header picture was taken by a co-worker in Africa.  Beautiful.

This picture was in the midst of Hurricane Ike.  I was excited, but it was extremely anti-climatic.  We had some hail, rain and wind…but really, nothing big.  I was doing homework and when I looked out the windows the sun broke through the fast moving clouds overhead.

…okay, back to reading.

and DTS begins…

Just when I thought I was getting used to Dallas, my routine turned in chaos.  Last week was the most stretching week I’ve had here, but that comes with the start of grad school.  I’m still recovering from syllabus shock, but it is getting a little less daunting.  I’m used to my RIT schedule and that has been whiped away and I’m starting clean.  In fact, this post will be short because I need to go read before I fall asleep.

The most important thing to probably write is that I love this school so far.  I’m enjoying the material, even if it is a lot.  The professors are insanley smart but have huge hearts for their students.  Here is what is keeping me busy:

Work: 20 hrs at East-West (Mon/Wed/Fri)

Classes:
Bible Exposition, Evangelism, Spiritual Life, Intro to Theology, Intro to Missions

Spiritual Formation group: I’m leading an SF group (aka small group) of girls who will focus on serving our surrounding community.

If I haven’t called you back and seem like a lousy friend, I’m sorry.  I’ll be much better once I get a grip on all of these changes.

In other news, I went to Colorado this weekend and got to see my lovely family! (minus Matt who is starting up at RIT!)  Here is a picture:
